Creating the concept of the rooms of the Mercure Kropotkinskaya hotel, we were inspired by the object's surroundings – the architecture of the historical center of Moscow and its atmosphere.
Location
Kropotkinskaya - the center of old Moscow. We were inspired by the history of this area. This area is full of all kinds of cultural objects.Here is the famous Pushkin Museum with a rich collection of paintings and sculptures. Across the road is the Cathedral of Christ the Savior made in white stone. Across the bridge is the territory of the former Krasny Oktyabr factory, which has turned into a creative cluster and the new GES-2 House of Culture. And of course the Metro station lobby itself.

Red October
The architecture of the buildings surrounded by the hotel is made in beige shades of stone, while individual elements – colonnades, arches, coffered ceilings have a pronounced ornament. When creating the design of the room, we turned to the contrasts of the area and its creative atmosphere.
A restrained color scheme was chosen for the design. A bright accent in the interior was a soft wall panel with a pronounced texture. It forms the aesthetics of the space, and its brick color refers to the color of the former factory "Red October", located nearby. The blue color in the interior elements refers to the style of the pipes of GES-2, an updated contemporary art center nearby.
The pattern on the walls of the room echoes the elements of illumination in the interior and resembles the ornament of the ceilings of the metro station "Kropotkinskaya". The drawing of the carpet on the floor refers to the ornament of the floors in the white hall of the Pushkin Museum. The interior is complemented by designer furniture of rounded shapes and accent posters: they depict reproductions of paintings from the collection of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts on Volkhonka.
At the same time, the interior is functionally thought out: we have provided a kitchenette area with a coffee machine in the room, and storage systems are represented by a trunk for a suitcase, a safe, a storage closet and hooks for outerwear with lighting in a niche.
