Kazanka – Riverside Development Masterplan
The masterplan and landscaping idea proposed by Blank Architects was based on two advantages of the existing site.
The first one was its proximity to the iconic and historical area of the Kremlin which inspired the design of viewing corridors and openings on to that area.
The second one is approximate 5m of difference between the level of the street and the water. That enabled us to create two levels different in character – an upper civic level, containing an existing road, designed buildings, civic spaces and promenades, and a second, lower, natural level, containing areas of recreational and informal activities. Two pedestrian promenades connect the implemented functions. In the places where they intersect the points of public activity were implemented.
