Blank Architects made a masterplan concept for the Prokshino cluster in Moscow
Blank Architects has developed the concept of a masterplan for the Prokshino sports and event cluster in Prokshino, Moscow, - a unique project for Russia. The project includes cultural and sports facilities, an event venue, a water park and a 100 m high slide.
The main task facing Blank Architects was to "link" and ensure convenient functioning of objects diverse in typology, to ensure synergy and connection with the surrounding buildings. In the concept developed by the bureau, each building is unique, creates rhythm and interest, attracting the attention of visitors.
The masterplan includes a transport and pedestrian flow scheme, works out visual connections and a variety of cycling and hiking routes, and also the concept of the landscape. The transport scheme is organized in such a way that the entrances to the buildings are carried out from the outside of the cluster, freeing up the central axis for walking routes and recreational areas.
The main objects of the cluster are located along the pedestrian axis stretching from the Prokshino metro station to the ski slope. Due to this, an attractive route is created, each section of which is saturated with activities.
Networks of pedestrian paths provide communication with the surrounding buildings, as well as convenient connections within the cluster. Where large flows of visitors are expected - the central entrance, the areas around the arena, the expansion of pedestrian paths and alternative routes for the duration of the events are provided.
