— Park in Kemerovo Landscape
The heart of Siberia is a new park located Kemerovo. The park joins the Laplandia shopping mall from the south and continues the recreational area in front of the mall. In this regard, the park becomes an iconic central point of attraction for local residents and visitors of all ages. In addition, it is planned that the Heart of Siberia Park will become the core of the future park ecosystem of Kemerovo, linking different areas of the city with a “green corridor”.
IDEA
We were faced with an ambitious task - to create a new unique public space for city-wide cultural, entertainment and educational events, as well as for recreation and outdoor sports for citizens throughout the year.
The team has done serious analytical work, including research on the national, historical and cultural heritage of the place. Siberian nature, geology, national ornaments and even elements of folk writing are reflected in the architecture of the pavilions, the shaping of the street furniture, in the color palette of plants, in the choice of pavement materials, etc.
Function
The Park is divided into 4 functional zones. The zones replace each other gradually. It becomes more active and noisy from the center to the borders of the park. The territory is organized in accordance with this. Scenarios of all-season use have been developed for each zone.
The green recreational area is located in the center of the park, and it is intended for quiet contemplation. The forest on a steep slope occupies most of it. A pavilion with a restaurant, children's eco-school and a coworking space are planned on the border of this zone. The active entertainment area adjacent to the shopping center is connected to the park by a panoramic bridge. Various attractions are located directly in the park: a tubing slide, a rope park, an ice rink, etc.
The cultural and entertainment zone is a central event area with an amphitheater, an art space and a food court. There is also an interactive scientific art object in the form of a coal mine, designed for open lessons.
And finally, the noisiest part of the park is reserved for the sports area. There is a community center for the sports activists, a pump track and skate park, sports grounds, equipment rental and much more.
Such a large-scale project of creating a multifunctional “green” public urban space is truly unique for central Siberia.
