— Losiny Ostrov – Outlet
Lately we are experiencing a significant demand on renovation of existing shopping centers. The fact is that in the beginning of ’00 it was a boom of Commerce development and a lot of newly build shopping malls of different scales were constructed. Obviously, 15 years after , there is no excuse for outdated design and quality especially when the competition on Retail market is still high.
We have designed a concept of renovation of existing Shopping mall situated on Yaroslavskoe shosse - just 10 min from VDNH by bus. “Losiniy Ostrov” is planned to become a high-quality outlet with middle –high brands. The title stands for the fact that the site is adjoined to National park of the same name.
Typology –
Village under one roof

diversity
We have started from outlets typology analyses and found out that mostly all the outlets are prone to imitate villages and shopping streets. It’s a direct reference to street retail where different shops and brands are gathered together. Vivid diversity of shopfronts is caused by intention to stand out from the others.
Idea –
Contrasts
GBA 54 000
industrial feeling
safe money
good-quality
When first outlets just appeared they generally took places in refurbished warehouses and other industrial buildings. There wasn’t any hint on design and no one obviously needed it as far as customers were coming for bargain. That’s why we had an intention to highlight the contrast in between desire to safe money and to buy a good-quality brand with appropriate service.
We used ideas of contrast between materials, variety of shapes and referred to a Losiniy ostrov National Park.
Interior –
Raw beauty

modern view
In interior design we kept that reference to a contrast between materials, forms and textures. Rough concrete goes along with glossy brass details. Beautiful Scandinavian furniture stands on industrial floor. Luxurious wood finishing adjoin black metal elements. It is as you are putting a beautiful painting on a ruined rough wall.
Food court design –
Challet

cozy
Food court design refers to a Losiniy ostrov National Park and based on idea of Chalet in woods. We borrow specific elements as inspiration such as fireplace, big common table, chandeliers and carpets. Warm shades and wooden elements are prevailed. We wanted to create a cozy atmosphere where customers can truly relax after intense shopping. We adopted an existing space of Cinema and offer to use the hight of cinema halls into mezzonine of foodcourt where we can place additional restaurant and sitting area.
