Blank Architects — Office
We are an architecture office, collective of creative, open minded people that love to try new experiences. We are at home at work, we treat our office as a place where we spend almost half of our live. The design is reflect Blank Architect mission and motto – we make responsible architecture. During many meetings and discussion we come up to the best plan – it was designed in the democratic way; listing to our employees in all departments. 2 years ago we moved to post – industrial space on Krasnoproletrkaya Street in Moscow. The location we choose because is very comfortable from the public transport, connection to the city center; we have 2 metros station in close distance 5-10 min walk.
The building is an old Printing House. This is Post- industrial space with ceiling high up to 6 m. Great big windows, columns and technical elements. We kept columns and walls with “holes, brakes and gaps’. The office has unique “unfinished” style that helps us with finding the most creative ideas. We keep an industrial atmosphere and focus on creating an office spacious interior that creates breathing space for ideas to grow and collaboration to flourish.

Love to the surrounding world – we use only natural materials, having big open windows , high ceilings
Atmosphere – good quality of natural lighting, fresh air, proper temperature and friendly aromas (morning freshly brewed coffee)
Layout – is efficient, easy to adapt , easy to circulate in it
Amenities – we love to support our local community eating outside
Noise – our office do not have direct connection with the loudly street. Inside office we use many acoustics tricks
Cohesion – we work, eat lunches, have coffee breaks togethe
Energy - we care about today worlds, recycling is our day base
Design – color palette is the most close to nature
We work in open space – for today we a team of around 30 – 35 people. Each of his big desks with privet area. Teams are changing their seats each time new project come up. It gives us possibility to meet and better knew each other. It is very easily way to shear and sprit new ideas and experience. Every employee has his one desk – large enough to have placed for a display their personal items what brings warmth to the work. As well we have a few “hot desks” where students work. Administration team is open to the architect’s one. It brings us better communication and work understanding of each other. They help us a lot with day to day issues, and they have better opportunity to see what dose architecture mean and what is our design process. The design itself we keep comfortable, nature colors, wood floor, white walls, black and white furniture. Each sector of seats zones as his own lighting design. Between working area we add a lot of greenery to always be a little bit closer to the nature. Art objects including neon’s , Funy Dinosaurs sculpture, pictures of our projects and 3d models are all around.

Administration corner
Welcome zone is a place where we can meet, rest and welcome our clients and project partners. Here is as well a lounge zone where we can make phone calls that help to do not disturber others working. Lounge zone one is fulfill with great among of greenery that bring us friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
In the office we have few areas for meetings, one close room for 8 – 10 people dedicated to big project meetings, few tables in the open spaces and a room dedicated to short meeting with clients. All of them are have acoustic solution built in – acoustic wall and ceiling panels. Our moving TV helps us to be flexible and arrange meeting whenever is needed.
We are open to all our guests and employees, in the heart of the office we have open kitchen with big community table where we are meeting during lunch and coffee breaks. Clients and our project partners can easily make coffee tea and sweets by themselves. In the kitchen we located as well our library as we believe book and freshly brewed coffeeis always a good start of the day. We collect architectural journals, and albums. Frame Detail and many other are update each as soon as they are published. Our kitchen is the place where we can congregate for collaboration work. We are treating kitchen as another meeting room.

The heart of our office is a real Banana tree – high for almost 2,5m and wide for more than 1m. This usually find brought us love positive energy and creative ideas. We deeply believe that is our secret energizer.
Archive, Model and plotter room are collected in one unit. We work there each day; latest technology is mixed with handmade work. 3d printing and Paper models are all around. Rooms and material archive is open to all of our employees including students. What we really focus on is recycling. We pay attention to climate changes and starting from small issues we are improving the world step by step.
Our office door is open to everybody; anyone is welcome. We treat it as second home. The design has facilitates for communication and generates exchanges among employees. Our interiors show the impression that it has a work – in - progress feeling. An unfinished atmosphere would inspire creativity and increasing productivity among our people.
